• DIY Polka Dot Baby Tights

I’ve done a lot of projects with stamping using the eraser on the back of a pencil, but I wanted more of a solid imprintĀ  for these polka dot baby tights so I explored other methods and found a great alternative!

Wanna take a guess how these perfect circles are made? (hint: the trick is probably buried deep in your office supply drawer)

See instructions AND our trick not having stretched out polka dots when they’re slipped on chubby baby legs after the jump…

Photography by Liz Stanley. Assisted by Sara Albers. Modeling by our little 4 month old Edie Jean

Our trick: We used loose leaf protector stickers, or also called hole reinforcement stickers from your old three ring binders! Great for making perfect solid little polka dots. You don’t have to be too careful with the fabric paint which is great! I’m not a perfectionist crafter.

Another tip: We didn’t like how the polka dots looked stretched out, so we taped the tights already stretched onto our work table and painted the dots on like that. When the tights collapsed the dots were smaller but stretched out on chubby baby legs they were the perfect round shape.

My daughter literally wore that outfit to the park last week. Same top, with store-bought polkadot leggings. And she’s the same age. I love it. Which tights do you buy? I feel like the ones we have are too tight on their belly.

All her tights are baby gap. She’s pretty chubby but they aren’t too tight. I usually go a size up though (these tights are 6-12 months and she’s only 4, but a big 4)

What a great idea to stretch the tights out first and THEN do your stamping to get a perfect-looking dot!
