This cute little rabbit is the perfect gift for a friend who is about to have a baby, or those nieces and nephews who love cuddly toys. Using my downloadable template, you can make it with a sewing machine or sew it by hand, and if you’re not keen on sewing at all, you can iron the transfer on to a ready made cushion instead. Easy!
Supplies:
- Rabbit plush download (you can choose from black, pink or blue – they’re all included)
- T-Shirt transfer paper
- Printer
- 1/2 yard of white cotton fabric
- Dressmaker’s pins
- Sewing machine or needle and thread
- Fill
- Scissors
Step 1: Print your rabbit onto t-shirt transfer paper and trim around the edges leaving a 1/2 inch border. Make sure you follow your t-shirt transfer paper printing instructions as you will need to choose the right setting on your printer.
Step 2: Following the t-shirt transfer paper instructions, iron your paper onto the cotton fabric. Peel your paper off to reveal your cute bunny.
Step 3: Cut a front and back for your plush by trimming around the shape of the body with the fabric facing right sides together. Pin with your dressmaker pins ready to sew.
Step 4: Sew your front and back together leaving a gap for the stuffing. Once sewn, cut into your fabric edge to the sewing thread to give your plush some give when stuffing and shaping. Repeat this all around the edge of your plush.
Step 5: Fill your plush and shape. Once your rabbit is stuffed, turn in the bottom edges and sew a slip stitch across the opening.
Now all you need to do is find a little person who can give this little rabbit a new home.
Really cute and amazing idea!
