Tomorrow we leave for the Outer Banks of North Carolina! In case you’ve never heard of the area, it’s a very narrow peninsula that runs down about half the length of the state and has the most amazing beaches I’ve been to in the US, plus the water is warm there! It’s real claim to fame though is that it’s where the Wright Brothers took their first flight on an airplane over a hundred years ago.

We stay far far up north where it’s newly developed, quiet, with huge clean beaches and wild horses spotted sometimes. It’s pure summer heaven, and a family tradition- we’ve been going since I was very young!  I’ve been excited for this trip for months and finally tomorrow’s the day! Henry and I will be gone for two full weeks and Jared will join us halfway through. There are plenty of great posts on the calendar while I’m away, so don’t you worry your pretty little heads!

Here are some links to check out from this week, have a great one:

      Hey there,

I love your blog and am very interested in Mormonism.
Therefore I wanted to ask you: If you had to list 10 rules of Mormon living, what would they be?
I would be super happy to hear back from you!
      My email: Lavendel01@gmx.net

      With kind regards,

Liz, I know you likely want to keep the name of the place where you go on the down-low for privacy reasons (and to keep it quiet and lovely and uncrowded!) but is there any chance you could point us readers in the general direction of a few towns/places to stay? I’ve always wanted to go to the Outer Banks but am never quite sure where to start (I’m from the West but lived in NY for 5 years and everyone always talked about how lovely the Outer Banks are)!

We’re hoping to visit North Carolina one of these days! We have a French friend that lives there part of the year and he has nothing but praise for the people and his town.
