The Easiest Peppermint Marshmallows

I made some easy homemade marshmallows last year with store bought whipped topping and thought I’d make a Valentine’s Day version since they were so quick and delicious!

I love how the swirled peppermint pink looks. Initially my idea was to cover them with broken peppermint candies, but I liked the swirls so much I left them that way.

Here’s how to make them in three easy steps…

Instructions:

1. Mix 1 container of store bought whipped topping with 1/2 cup of water and 2 drops of peppermint extract. Place waxed paper over a casserole dish and spread whipped topping into the dish.

2. Place drops of pink food coloring into the dish and careful mix with a finger or knife. Freeze for at least 4 hours

3. Cut out shapes with a small heart shaped cookie cutter.

Place directly in hot chocolate or place back in the freezer for another hot chocolate night!

Great info. I love looking around the web when I am not cleaning the house finding interesting blogs and information like this. Great to see some off the wall posts rather than the normal same old posts that are everywhere. Well, better get back to the cleaning!

so afterwards do you have to freeze them? or can you place them in a bag and leave them in the pantry?

What a beautiful result, love the marbling effect of the marshmellows too
