• DIY: Gold Dipped Holiday Glasses

I’ve been kind of obsessed with gold spray paint lately (as evidenced here, here, here and here to name a few). This is my latest idea: gold dipped holiday glasses. So easy to make and they really do transform your holiday table. A really simple holiday entertaining idea.

My craft room has become the ‘gold spray closet’. There’s a large cardboard box covered in a light dusting of gold paint that doesn’t get put away since I’m kind of lazy I use it so frequently.

I liked the result so much I spray painted our entire wine glass set. We’ll see how I feel about that decision come mid-summer…

    Handmade polka dot stamped napkins
    and
    Wooden spoons painted in stripes

Great, thanks Liz! I have a can of metallic paint and some ikea glasses that need the christmas treatment. Might do some black flats at the same time. Love your inspirations.

ooh! those wine glasses are awesome! i'm going to try white. it would be interesting to use all different sized glasses and apply the paint in the same way to make them feel like a collection.thanks for sharing!

Wow love this idea! :) would probably need a sealer to make it waterproof.

Sarah, I've used them a couple times and they haven't been able to come off yet! I did hand wash them, fyi

I absolutely need a set of gold-dipped wine glasses now. And a set of those polka dot napkins, while I'm at it. So subtle yet festive, I love it!Rebecca (hearts)…

Does the spray paint come off easily? I just had to spray paint a frame with metallic paint, on on the areas I didn't sand lightly, the paint came off if a fingernail so much as brushed it. I don't expect this to be permanent or washable, but would it last through dinner?
