Coney Island

I can only think of two occasions we ventured down to Coney Island when we lived in Manhattan and then Hoboken (the train ride is forever long from either one): freak shows-really really freaky, and the Mermaid Festival-which was really more like a huge nudie parade.

Both excursions included Nathan’s famous and subsequent near-puking on the Wonder Wheel of course.
Ahhh, the charming Coney Island!
{Very fun photos of Coney Island seen at the photography blog From Me to You seen via the lovely blog Exquisite Banana}

We took a good friend out for beer and a ride on the Cyclone for his 25th job anniversary. He subsequently threw up the nice dinner his wife made for all of us. Then he wept.

Oh, what fun! The pictures are just lovely; all the bright colors and whatnot. I have this utterly romanticized idea of Coney Island which makes me afraid to actually go and see it.Oh, and as a size note,d my mouth has been watering ever since I saw your delicious eggplant parm post. Yum!

wow, that beach looks WAY better than the coney island beach i've been to! where are all the broken bottles?

Never in my life have I ever craved a corn dog, until seeing that photo of one! 😀 Fun post!!

oh my goodness, it just put the biggest grin on my face knowing that you've read my blog. I know we're all people here, but some bloggers (like you!) are nearly celebrities to me 😉 You rock. And so does Coney Island captured through the lens of the always talented Jamie of From Me-To You.Have a great day, Liz and thanks for visiting.

Those pictures make Coney Island look amazing!! It definitely looks very different than that, hehe!! I saw some mermaids on the subway and I was wondering where they were coming from…only in NYC!

Coney Island might be a little bit icky, but the color! And the spectacles! I kind of love it, even if I feel like I don't have to go back for several more years after venturing out last summer. 🙂

I just love all that bright color. So summery!
